    • In this lesson, we will learn about "Developing Responsible Global Citizens" (DRGC) and the CHEDI topics. The DRGC approach aims to transform language courses into holistic personal development pathways, focusing on strengthening language competences through student-centered teaching methods. The CHEDI topics are considered fundamental in 21st-century society but are often overlooked in education, including language teaching. In Chapter 7 'Developing Responsible Global Citizens' we will explore how to incorporate these topics into the context of environmental sustainability within the Green Standard Schools project. Additionally, we will delve into the various sections of this chapter to gain a better understanding of CHEDI and its rationale for implementation in language courses.

    • In this lesson, we will learn about CHEDI topics, which are essential for addressing various aspects of 21st-century society. These topics encompass values, civic engagement, diversity, and more, aligning with the priorities of the Erasmus program. While our handbook mainly discusses environmental topics, language teachers are encouraged to expand their teaching materials to include various CHEDI topics, ensuring a safe environment for students to explore and discuss these sensitive subjects. Integrating CHEDI topics into language learning classrooms, especially in the context of environmental sustainability, is an important step in nurturing responsible global citizens.

    • In this lesson, we will learn about the rationale for implementing CHEDI topics in language courses. Integrating CHEDI topics into language learning curricula promotes the development of essential life competencies alongside language skills. This approach enhances students' growth mindsets, soft skills, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, self-organization, and practical life skills. The ultimate goal is to prepare language learners for the challenges of the 21st century and expand language education beyond traditional language competencies. This lesson will explore the significance of CHEDI topics in language courses.

    • In this lesson, we will explore the integration of CHEDI (Community, Health, Environment, Diversity, and Innovation) topics into Green Standard Schools (GSS). The incorporation of CHEDI topics in the GSS curriculum is essential for cultivating 21st-century education that prioritizes students' socio-emotional skills, active citizenship, and collaborative problem-solving. This lesson will delve into the significance of combining CHEDI topics with environmental sustainability to create a curriculum that fosters local and global awareness, supports students' well-being, and emphasizes sustainability.
